Industrial Associate Membership
Mobile VCE has a category of membership specifically designed to make it easier for smaller companies - SMEs of less than 250 employees - to participate in the research and other activities of Mobile VCE as an Industrial Associate Member, at a reduced annual subscription reflecting employee headcount. We recognise the particular constraints upon small companies but also the important role which they play, and we wish to encourage their participation and develop their contribution to the industry.
Benefits & Constraints
Industrial Associate Members receive many of the benefits of membership, at the discretion of the Executive Committee of Mobile VCE, such as visibility of and access to core research programmes, to research teams and to technical reports, attendance at members' technical seminars, industry networking, etc. They do not however receive an entitlement to vote or speak at general meetings nor to nominate persons to the Executive Committee of Mobile VCE, nor receive automatic royalty-free access to IPR (available to full members). (See Mobile VCE's Memorandum & Articles of Association and IPR Agreement for more details).
Associate Membership Fees
Membership fees for this category of members for the year 2001 operate on a sliding scale reflecting the number of employees and are shown below, starting at £5,000 for a company with 25 or less employees.

Eligibility as an SME
An SME, as defined in Mobile VCE's Articles of Association, means an enterprise which has no more than 250 employees and either an annual turnover not exceeding ECU 40 million, or a balance sheet total not exceeding ECU 27 million, and is not more than 25% owned by one or more companies which do not fall within this definition, except public investment corporations, venture capital companies or, provided no control is exercised, institutional investors.
If you are an organisation interested in becoming a Mobile VCE Industrial Associate Member, please e-mail the Executive Director, Walter Tuttlebee. Thank you.
