Work Area 2 - Networks and Services

The objectives are

• An "all-IP" cellular multimedia network

• A network architecture that offers efficient support of multimedia services with appropriate QoS

• Mobility Management dealing with location, routing, macro & micro mobility-handover

• Resource Management including DCA and call admission policy

• Multimedia traffic modelling, network dimensioning and planning

The areas of work include

• Evolved IP protocols for mobile systems

• Adaptive and flexible QoS schemes

• Impact of mobility

• Efficient resource management schemes

• Network dimensioning for mixed services
