Join Mobile VCE

Mobile VCE undertakes world-class, industry-steered, long-term research for the mobile communications (and related) industry. Because our focus is long-term we have succeeded in establishing an excellent and sustained atmosphere of partnership and trust amongst our members, which enables them all to benefit. Through shared vision, our industry members define, initiate and then reap the fruit of new ground-breaking research that in due course can facilitate future revenue streams for their companies. The financial leverage is substantial and members enjoy royalty-free access to all IPR arising from our research.

Industrial membership is open to any organisation interested in participating in the work of the Mobile VCE. Members pay an annual membership fee which is used to fund the research programme. In 2010 the annual subscription for an ordinary member is £45,000 which buys access to a programme of research in excess of £2m, well over 40x financial leverage. Small companies may join as Associate Members at a reduced subscription level and with lesser rights. Members must also sign up to the rules of Mobile VCE, in particular the Intellectual Property Agreement.

Our research is undertaken by academic members, who must meet a stringent set of objective criteria, including a demonstrable world-class track record of excellence in relevant research and a commitment to, and evidence of, strong academic collaboration. These members are expected to jointly undertake the main research programme under contract from Mobile VCE. Ongoing performance is assessed periodically by our Industrial members and is used to determine future participation; such mechanisms preserve the highest quality of research.
