IEEE PIMRC ’08 International Workshop on

Ubiquitous Services over heterogeneous mobile networks

The Key to ‘True’ Mobility

Chairs:             Stewart Fallis (BT, UK)

Date:               Monday 15th September 2008

Time:               14h30-18h30 (half day)

Room:                         TBA

Objective:

The evolution of today’s wireless networks has provided a revolution for network access and content delivery markets. However, in doing so, has introduced a number of challenges associated with delivering services across a heterogeneous mix of network technologies and administrative domains. Until recently, little focus has been attributed to the challenges associated with coherently delivering Ubiquitous Services over such heterogeneous mobile wireless devices as opposed to addressing the challenges of the physical connectivity. This full day workshop aims to bring together internationally leading academic and industrial perspectives and thinking to highlight the key barriers to Ubiquitous Services and their potential solutions.
